Helpful Tips

Consent- We require formal consent in order to disclose any client related information. 

• Youth age 16 and over must provide consent for themselves where able.
• For a child or youth under the age of 16 years, consent is required from the youth OR from their legal guardian
• Youth aged 12 years or older can request counselling services without the consent of their guardian if they wish

Custody- For children and youth where custody has changed, documentation will be collected. For example, separation orders and court orders prior to Contact Hamilton providing direct client service.
